Hello there! For this blog post I thought I would highlight one of the many services we offer...Wedding Programs! There are so many ideas styles and concepts out there for wedding programs. Yet, sometimes people get, what I call, creative tunnel vision and think you have to have a nice little booklet with a monogrammed cover. Not that there is anything wrong with the uber traditional, but as creative professional, it is my duty to open your eyes and indulge your senses with the non-traditional. That being said I thought I would take a page from my own wedding and highlight our rustic themed, newspaper program.
When deciding on what to do for a program, I wanted something unique that would be able to house our love story. Seeing as how we had ten years of stories to tell I needed quite a bit of space! haha. I also wanted something that would be entertaining for our guests and give them something to keep them busy during that awkward, waiting for the bride to walk down the aisle moment. Finally, I wanted it to coordinate with our rustic-prep theme. And then as I sat typing in my chair at work, I thought a NEWSPAPER! And I was off and running.
Our dating story took center stage as the front page story, complimented by the ceremony details, bridal party information, the style section and all of the reception details, including the menu. The backside highlighted our engagement, our upcoming honeymoon adventures, a special thank you from the Bride and Groom, a memorial section, a classified section, highlighting all of our vendors, an important information section and finally an entertainment section, which housed a crossword puzzle and a "this day in history" section.
Each program was adorned with a twine bow, small customized golf pencil and a social media tag to let guests know how to share photos on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter with our customized hashtag.
Our programs were one of my favorite stationery pieces from our big day and I received great feedback! Guests loved getting to know the background of our story, as well as being informed about the day's events. I even got comments from some of the vendors, thanking me for the props!
I hope this helps get your creative juices flowing! Do you have a unique idea for your wedding program? If so let us know and we will help your dream come to life. Still searching for inspiration? Check out our
