Today’s couple are all about romantic tones, elegant accents - and the spirit of adventure.
Avid music lovers and concert-goers, Joe and Azhuree met at an underground bar. They fell in love while Joe was working in Music City, aka Nashville, which is where he coincidentally proposed.
The couple brought their rock n’ roll love home to Indianapolis for their wedding at the Mavris Arts Center in downtown Indianapolis on Saturday September 8, 2018. The venue has a urban-industrial feel to it, which made for the perfect modern backdrop for the couple’s sophisticated wedding color palette: cobalt blue, burgundy and blush, with touches of gold.
I met with Azhuree via telephone and Google chat to work out all of the details. Azhuree was a breeze to work with and I love how the entire suite pulled together her unique color palette.
The couple’s wedding invitation suite was based off of a previous styled shoot design and included invitations, details cards, bellybands and reply card with envelopes. The envelopes included digitally printed addressing and were paired with a floral envelope liner. I always love how the envelope liners tie in all of the colors used throughout the invitation suite. Separately they may not make sense, but when paired together they create a wonderfully cohesive design.
To accent the bellyband, we created a custom monogram with foliage detailing. The monogram tag upgrade adds that extra touch and really “wows” guests when they open the invitations. Not to mention the functionality of holding the invitation suite together.
To make things easier during the design process, I sent paper samples to help her narrow down her choices. Joe and Azhuree selected neutral tones for the paper stock, featuring white, gold and a pale blush tone; allowing the burgundy text to really pop.
Completing the suite were matching wedding programs that offered a fun and modern feel to the wedding ceremony. They’re not only functional, but custom detailing allows the couple to infuse a bit of their personality. And from what I hear they were a hit with the guests.
