I’ve recently worked with Jennifer of Joy Dessert Co to create a brand and collateral that fits perfectly with her business feel and goals.
Now that we are fully immersed in 2023, I wanted to take a moment to look back on all the stunning stationery that we designed in 2022 for our clients.
Viva Magenta! Is it wrong that I feel like I need to yell that out loud in a very festive manner each time I read it? Hmmmm…just me? Well, Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2023 is definitely a festive and fun color and I have to admit, I’m loving the magenta vibe.
Happy New Year! For our first blog post of the new year, I am sharing this stunning NYE wedding of Angela and Steven. While this was from NYE of 2021, I never got to share it last year and I think now is the perfect time to give this beautiful event a little love.
I’m so excited to share this exciting new product. I’ve been working behind the scenes to develop templates for envelope liners that can be downloaded, cut and assembled by you, at home! It’s been a labor of love and I’m hoping you will be in love with them too. A lot of clients think they can’t afford envelope liners, but with my new line of downloadable envelope liners, you can now add this simple upgrade to any card or invitation suite.
Well, hold on to your cocktail napkins, because there is a new type of signage that is starting a trend — fabric signage. WHAT?!? Yep, we’ve moved past foamboards and framed cardstock. Couples are starting to look for signage ideas that are printed on fabric, like flowing cotton and linen! Pair your luscious fabric with beautiful printed typography and other design elements and you’ve got a show stopper. That’s called wow-factor!
So, to help all those parents out there, I’ve expanded my line of printable coloring and activity sheets to include holidays! So, now you can find coloring sheets for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Winter and even some adorable Valentine’s that can be adorned with art and given to school mates.
Kristin and Cody’s wedding at Peterloon in Cincinnati, Ohio was a stunning, yet relaxed affair that has me dreaming of the the perfect Spring day. As a stationery designer, colors speak to me. For this event, the colors were reading me a sweeping romance novel. The color palette was a mixture of feminine and masculine, which made for a subtle and perfect pairing for the day. We had the pleasure of working with Samantha Joy Events on this event and I think she explains the color palette perfectly in her blog post HERE.
If there is one thing that my clients always seem to have questions about, it’s the reply card. I get it. The reply card is a key piece of the wedding invitation suite and it gives the couple a ton of information about the guests coming to their wedding. To make things easier, I’ve put together 5 tips + tricks that I think will help answer some of those nagging questions when dealing with response cards.
To avoid a lot of confusion that tends to come up during the designing and ordering process, I’ve put together a little glossary of the most used terms when dealing with stationery. Hopefully, this will help you navigate the paper waters with a little more ease.
I’m so excited to share this gorgeous styled shoot with you all. Cassidy Alane Photography and Kourtney Fossaluzza Photography hosted this event at the stunning Magnolia Estate in Dayton, Ohio. The beautiful terra-cotta orange, mustard yellow, and green, color palette came together perfectly with all of the little details in this shoot.
If you are going to be mailing your invitations in the next month or so, you need to know that the USPS has changed their postage rates. While we always recommend taking a completed assembled invitation in the mailing envelope to the post office to determine how much postage you need to mail, we wanted to give you this updated information, so you can budget accordingly.
Chris and Jill’s simply gorgeous summer evening wedding at Peterloon Estates in Cincinnati, Ohio was just so dreamy, light and airy. I adored the simple color palette of blues, whites, coral, blush and greenery. The overall design was inspired by ginger jar and chinoiserie motif patterns, which we represented in the table numbers, cocktail signage, table linens and vases.
I have had many brides say that they love one of my designs in the semi custom collection, but that they don’t want their invitation to look like anyone else’s. Or, they say that it doesn’t quite fit their colors or wedding theme. The beauty of this collection is that you can absolutely make it your own. Today, I’m going to focus on one of my popular semi custom designs, the Emily Collection.
i’m so excited to share today’s client feature with you. And, it’s not just because Lindy and David had a spectacular Amsterdam themed wedding with so many fun touches! I’m excited because I had the opportunity to work with a fabulous local wedding and event specialist - Samantha from Samantha Joy Events.
As you may know, one of the most popular instant downloads are from my Kate Spade collection. I’ve had many requests for editable versions of these items to use for baby and bridal showers. Well, you asked and I have answered. You can now download these editable files that can be updated using Canva via our Etsy Shop.
Typically when you start planning your big wedding day, one of the first things you will need to determine is your overall color palette. Why? Well, because there will be a lot of decisions that are made during your wedding planning that will require you to choose colors. For example, flowers, bridesmaid dresses, table linens, groomsmen attire, decorations, and yes, even stationery.
At my first design meeting with clients, we discussed a lot things, including colors, style, stock, wording and accessories. I find myself intermingling a few interesting etiquette details into the meeting and my clients always seem surprised by these tidbits. I’m aware that the majority of my couples have no clue about these ‘rules’, so I thought it would be perfect for a blog post.
Ordering extra invitations after your original order is complete can be very expensive. And there is the additional time that it will take to have the invitations printed and assembled. So, my clients can avoid a potential anxiety inducing situation, I’ve developed a recommended plan to follow when determining how many invitations you need to order for your wedding. Since we are getting into prime wedding season, this is the perfect time to share this information with you.
As we head in to 2022, you may be thinking of ways to streamline your business for the new year. This is the perfect time to review what worked and didn’t in 2021 and set some goals for the upcoming year. One of my goals for 2021 was to create a Design Retainer Service for clients who needed on-going design support for their business, but weren’t’ ready to hire a full time employee yet. I realized that I never really shared too much about this service and decided a blog post was in order.
As we head into December, we will all be getting lots of holiday cards in our mailboxes. What do you do with all of these beautiful cards? Some people collect them in a pretty container, some put them on their fridge and others just leave them in a pile on the counter (we’ve all been there). But, I love to display these holiday cards in unique ways that adds to my holiday home decor. Here are a few ideas that you could try this month.

Through the years, I have accumulated quite a few tricks of the trade. And, honestly, there are some tools that I really couldn’t live without when I’m assembling stationery. So, today I’m going to give you a little peek behind the curtain and share the five stationery production tools that I can’t live without.
Holly reached out to me to design a team logo to support the annual CF fundraiser -- Great Strides. The purpose of the walk is to raise awareness and fund research for better treatments and a CURE for CF.
Featuring my “real” clients’ work is always so special to me. And, today’s feature is no exception. I was contacted by Emily’s family to help her design her wedding invitations. Emily was having trouble getting the invitations done by herself. I had designed Emily’s sister’s wedding invitation back in 2017. So, Emily’s family recommended that she come to me to make her paper dreams a reality.
Wedding stationery is an investment - it accounts for 6% to 10% of your overall wedding budget. Overestimating the number of save the dates, invitations, and day-of paper goods you’ll need, can lead to loads of leftovers once the big day has come and gone. I’ve made a list of a few crafty and eco-friendly ways to repurpose your unused wedding stationery.

Branding is essential for any business - it creates an identity that tells your clients who you are and what you’re about. When you are starting your business, you may need guidance in developing thoughtful and purposeful branding. And, as you grow, you will likely need to overhaul your marketing materials to reflect changes in your business. Either way, having a professional in your corner to support your branding and marketing efforts will make all the difference in the success of your business.
One of my very favorite things is when clients take one of our semi-custom designs and switch it up to reflect their wedding and personalities. Carol and Kevin did just that with their twist on the Shelby semi-custom invitation.
