Can you imagine growing up your whole life while your future spouse is doing the same on the other side of the world? That was the case for my clients Christi and Dayne. Christi grew up locally in the Dayton area (we actually went to high school and played soccer together!) and her husband Dayne grew up a few thousand miles away in Australia. After meeting and dating in college, the couple married at the beautiful Canyon Run Ranch, and now live down under.
For their invitation suite, the couple wanted to fuse their homelands together with a classic, yet modern look that fit their wedding aesthetic.
They decided on a modified version of the Rachel Suite. In order to pull the two locations together we added a map design paired with a short quote representing the distance and/or sense of adventure. In lieu of gifts, the couple opted for the Australian tradition of a wishing well card, which we commonly know as a cash registry. We also added envelope liners, addressing and upgraded the invitation to a double-thick paper stock for a luxurious look and feel. Lastly, they opted for an online reply card due to the hindrances of international postage.
With the couple living in Australia, I never actually got to meet Dayne, but working with Christi was a breeze. We worked strictly via email, but through digital proofs and mock ups we were able to come up with an invitation suite perfect for them.
We designed and assembled sixty invitation suites for Christi and Dayne’s wedding that included the invitation, customized map with details card, wishing well cards, envelopes with addressing, the online reply, and envelope liners. And once the invitations were complete, I met up with her father for local pick up, so she didn't have to ship halfway across the globe.
I have done quite a few Australian weddings and it always amazes me that a small business like mine can work with clients from around the world! If you’re looking for semi-custom or custom wedding invitations, I’d love to chat with you about your options. Shoot me an email so we can get started!
