Just in time for engagement season, Ivory House Creative’s comprehensive Stationery Guide is newly updated and now available. If you’re not sure where to start when it comes to invitations, postage and all of your paper options, this guide is for you!
To help you understand the entire stationery process, my guide covers all areas of wedding stationery from timelines to wording. Below, we’ve detailed some of the key highlights to give you a little insight on what to expect.
Printing Particulars
Getting creative with your wedding stationery has almost no bounds. This includes your printing options. From thick cardstock (our standard is 110-130# paper stock) to modern die cuts (like a hexagon) there are so many ways to transform the look of your stationery.
Our Stationery Guide covers what you need to know about weights, colors, and specialty upgrades.
Invitation Timeline
Did you know wedding stationery should be sent out as early as 9-months before your wedding day? It’s true most couples send their Save the Dates between six to nine months -- and customizing your design may tack on additional time. But fear not, our Stationery Guide addresses the specifics on when to send (and order) save the dates, thank you notes, and most importantly, your wedding invitations.
Invitation Wording
A lot of the time, our clients come to us needing a little more than a pre-designed option from my semi-custom collection. Together, we can create the perfect invitation suite that details everything you need. In the meantime, this part of our guide explains everything to know about all of the formalities.
Envelope Addressing
Among all the things you have to do to prep for your big day, envelope addressing for your stationery does not have to be one of them! This section of our stationery guide explains ink types, naming conventions, and proper addressing. I also offer a free envelope addressing template and guest list tracker on my website!
Postage Guide
Figuring out postage for mailing wedding invitations doesn’t have to be complicated. It’s essential to know how much you need to budget for postage, and how to calculate your expenses and requirements.
My Postage Guide helps you determine how many stamps you need, and what your sizing options are, pricing per ounces, etc. Did you know some stamps are categorized in ounces? Typical invitation suite postage ranges between $0.50 - $1.00 per invitation suite. It’s always recommended that you weigh your invitation suite or have the post office tell you how much it will cost to mail your invitations before purchasing your stamps.
