I interrupt your pandemic newsfeed to formally introduce the newest member of our family. Kenna Alise made her grand entrance exactly one month ago at 9:06 am. This 7 pound 3 ounce rainbow babe surprised us all, causing quite the uproar in the waiting room - we swore she was a boy. But, the moment her Daddy announced “it’s a girl” to the room is a moment I will never forget. I am so thankful for one of life’s greatest surprises. Much like her name, Kenna has truly has been a light in such tumultuous times and I couldn’t imagine our family without her.
fun facts
We found out we were expecting our sweet babe on June 30th, 2019 - also the day we coincidentally listed our house for sale.
We told our families by writing “nursery” on the floor plan for our new house. Some got it right away, some not so much - haha.
Kenna’s due date was 3.4.20 - arriving at 38 weeks and 5 days.
Our first baby was due on February 25th and I had said all along that baby #2 would be born that day - I didn’t miss it by much.
The meaning
Kenna - fire born or good-looking
Alise - (an old German family name + my middle name) noble, exalted; great happiness, light
