Elizabeth and Travis’s California wedding was elegant, organic and had plenty of ocean-side charm. We connected through Liz’s cousin Nicole, who was a client of mine in 2016. Liz knew for sure what she needed, but not so much how she wanted it to look.
The two cousins were both inspired by one of my styled shoots, featured on Wedding Chicks a few years ago -- which also turned out to be the inspiration for the semi-custom Elizabeth suite.
For Liz and Travis’ invitation suite, we selected one of my favorite upgrades: gold foil printing. This light-catching metallic detail elevates a design so beautifully. Additionally, Liz selected a custom watercolor wash in cobalt blue color, to mimic the ocean vibe. Further aesthetic upgrades included envelope liners, white ink addressing, and a two-sided weekend detail card.
It was important to Liz that the design, much like the rest of their celebrations, reflect a chic California vibe without coming off too formal. The future newlyweds selected a minimal black and white color palette for their apparel but planned to incorporate the blues and green hues around the venue in other elements such as stationery and florals. Lucky for me, she was extremely flexible when collaborating over ideas and was a breeze to work with.
Once we finished outlining the must-have’s and deciding on a color palette, we knew we were going to create something beautiful together! So much so, Liz excitedly celebrated the digital proof, sharing with me “for the first time it feels REAL!” Connecting with my clients on such a personal level makes creating their products an even more joyful experience.
Travis and Liz were married in Carmel, California at Carmel Mission Basilica with a reception followed at Monterey Peninsula Country Club in Pebble Beach. Surrounded by the ocean, cypress trees, and loved ones, the two tied the knot in Fall 2017. Years later, I still love the features of their modern-boho-beach design.
